The Muslim faith as been called intolerant and its followers labeled extremists. Here are some of the most popular myths about Islam:
 
Muslims are Arabs:  Arabs constitute not more than 15 percent of the total Muslim population in the world. Asia has more than 60 percent of the Muslim population followed by Africa, which has around 30 percent. The rest of the population has sporadic global presence.

Islam oppresses women:  Women have been granted some rights within which they can work and have a share in property. But there are certain conditions to do that; all such conditions are more culture specific than religious in nature. Islam does not permit spousal abuse or forced marriage.
 
Islam is the fastest spreading religion in the world: Many followers of Islam might claim this to be true, but the facts say otherwise.
 
Muslims are violent and extremists:  Like most other religions of the world, Islam also preaches peace, respect, and tolerance. Muslim scholars across the world try to propagate the message of peace and universal brotherhood. 
 
Muslims don’t respectJesus: There are a few myths about the holy book of Islam — the Qur’an. According to many people, the book does not respect Jesus Christ. On the contrary, Muslims across the world consider Jesus as one of their important religious figures and hold Him in extremely high regard. There is even a full chapter dedicated to Mother Mary in the holy Qur’an that talks about Jesus Christ at length.
