Music, it is said, is food for the soul. However, often many prospective candidates opt out when it comes to pursuing music as a career. The main reason for this is the austere job opportunities that exist for musicians. While there is a market for good music, the remunerations are not attractive enough to keep the musicians stick to the profession. To lure musicians and to motivate them to pursue music, various grants and scholarships have been designed. “Music scholarships” are in great demand mainly due to the large amount of money involved. Unlike other academic grants, financial background is not considered for “scholarships for musicians.” Various universities and foundations in the U.S. support talented students with “music scholarships.” Out of the many, the five “best musician scholarships” are discussed here.
