Between 7 and 9 A.M. this morning, Meredith Vieira hosted her final Today Show on NBC. Throughout the emotional morning, she repeatedly told fans that leaving was “a hard decision, but the right decision.”

The show presented itself almost as a two-hour tribute to the host, and her colleagues offered much commentary commemorating her work.

“If I really tell you how I feel, I’m going to turn into a blubbering idiot . . . I marvel, with a talent as large as yours, how small your ego is,” said cohost Matt Lauer.

Although she served as cohost for fewer than five years, Vieira’s uncanny ability to build relationships with her colleagues, as well as the Today fans, will not be forgotten.
