Get your Eyes Checked!

Thursday, 24 Feb 2011 11:14 AM

Even if you feel your eyes are perfect, you do need to get them checked.
There can be hidden medical conditions that cannot be detected until a complete eye check-up is done. You can check your vision yourself with a simple online test or by getting your eyes checked at your doctor's office. Other than that, a simple way to check your eyes is to follow these steps:
· Look at distant objects and note them carefully. If you are having a sudden problem in seeing distant objects or a part of your visual field is filled with blindness, you could require glasses or could be experiencing the first symptoms of glaucoma or macular degeneration.
· Look at close objects. If you find that reading is difficult, then you may require glasses. This is especially important in the case of patients who are suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes.
Patients who have a family history of any kind of eye condition should get themselves checked every year to prevent development of possible eye problems.
