The state of Massachusetts can boast of renowned universities and colleges that are among the best and oldest in the world. There are also a good number of newer colleges that have carved a niche for themselves as excellent educational institutions.

The five best colleges in Massachusetts are:

Harvard University. One of the oldest universities in the world, Harvard does not need any introduction. It was founded in the sixteenth century and offers excellent courses, faculty, and rigorous academic activities. Located in Boston, there are over ten thousand students currently enrolled for undergraduate studies in this university. The Harvard Law School has won several accolades world over. Ranked second among the top universities and colleges, studying at Harvard is every student’s dream.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology. MIT was founded in the mid-eighteenth century and is located in Cambridge. This is one of the most popular universities for studies in applied sciences and engineering. The technological education offered at MIT is the best in the United States. Students have to pass stringent selection criteria with respect to prior academic achievements and entrance examinations to qualify for admissions. It has won several accolades for providing an excellent foundation at the undergraduate level, which enables the students to pursue graduate and higher education with confidence and vigor.
Boston College. Boston College is one of the top Massachusetts universities and colleges. It was founded in the mid-eighteenth century by a Jesuit society. The university offers more than 90 different streams of study and currently has over 9,000 students enrolled in undergraduate programs. This institution is also considered as one among the premier educational colleges in Massachusetts for higher learning. Some of the programs offered at Boston College include nursing, education, management, science and arts, history, economics, and fashion.
