5 Things To Do With My Grandmother

Tuesday, 21 Dec 2010 02:31 PM

Grandmothers develop a special bond with their grandchildren. There are many things that grandchildren can do to make their grandmothers happy. The following five things to do with grandma can be a useful guideline:

1. Write letters. A surefire way to keep grandma happy is to write letters to her. Tell her about what you have been up to, and give her colorful descriptions of funny incidents that occurred. Express your love and say how much you miss her or send her your latest photos.  fun activities with grandmother

2. Visit her often. Do something different every time. Sit with her and recall happy memories of the past. Listen to her attentively. Make her recount stories from her own childhood. Go through an album together. You can also make a video presentation about your grandmother’s life and show it  to her on her birthday. Get everyone in the family and her friends to talk about her. Put in pictures from her childhood and youth.

3. Involve her in your activities. You could play games that she likes, or sit with her while she watches her favorite TV programs. You could even take her for small walks nearby and introduce her to your friends.

4. Take her shopping and buy her small gifts. Parents should advise children on what their grandmother might like. You could take grandma sightseeing to nearby attractions. You can end the day with a lunch or dinner, as the case may be, at her favorite restaurant.

5. Discuss things with her and ask her for advice. Let her feel involved in your life. And remember, a grandmother’s advice can be very useful. After all, she’s seen life. You can talk to her about love, life, career, decisions… anything.

Doing little things like these will ensure you enjoy a special relationship with your grandmother, which will leave lasting memories. After all, a grandmother’s love is a priceless treasure.
