Gene Simmons, the front-man of the wild-haired, painted-faced rock band KISS, has long boasted of his busy love life while exhibiting a distinct lack of enthusiasm towards marriage.
However, the season finale of the rock idol’s reality show, “Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels,” shows that Simmons has had a change of heart. The episode, which aired Tuesday night on A&E
, showed Simmons, 61, on bended knee while on vacation in Belize with longtime love Shannon Tweed, a former Playboy model and the mother of the Simmons’s two children, Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19.
“I come with so much baggage, but you’re the only friend I’ve got. You’re the only one I love . . . and you’re the only one I will ever love,” Simmons told Tweed, 54, who gasped in surprise. The preview for next season does not shed light on Tweed’s answer to the proposal, but the couple has provided a bit of insight on Twitter.
"Shannon and I work on our relationship every day . . . One day at a time. Thanks for watching. When we figure out our lives, you will know,” wrote Simmons after Tuesday’s finale.
Added Tweed on Twitter: "We are taking it day by day. Stay tuned.”
