Scholarships for Michigan residents are a great way for students to meet their college expenses without being burdened by debts or loans. The “State of Michigan” scholarships are sources of financial aid for residents of Michigan that can see them through college.
 
The five best scholarships for Michigan residents are:
 
The Kalamazoo Promise Scholarship: This scholarship offers complete coverage, including full tuition and fees. It is exclusively for the Kalamazoo public school graduates who would like to attend a state school in Michigan. 
 
The Bay Commitment Scholarship: This is among the most coveted  scholarships where a total of 100 scholarships are awarded to college students who have graduated from Bay City public schools. The award amount offered by this Michigan competitive scholarship is $2,000. It is exclusively for students who seek admission at Delta College or the Saginaw Valley State University.
 
The Dan Gerber Sr. Medallion Scholarship:  The goal of this scholarship is to help  seniors from a total of five school districts in Newaygo County, Michigan, with their further studies. It recognizes and honors graduating seniors who have a track record of academic excellence. 
 
The Michigan Nursing Scholarship: This scholarship is one of the scholarships that are exclusively non-need based. Michigan residents who are enrolled for at least a half term and are studying in a program that confers on them a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification are eligible for this Michigan scholarship. Students are also eligible for this scholarship if they are awarded degrees that include an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an eligible institution. The total value of the award for a full-time student is $4,000 per academic year.
 
The Grand Rapids Community Foundation Michigan College Scholarship: This is among the Michigan scholarships that are open to all full-time students attending  Michigan college. The are a handful of colleges excluded from this scholarship that also requires  minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3 and a Michigan residency of at least 3 years or more.
