Leighton Meester, Mother Suing Each Other

“Gossip Girl” starlet Leighton Meester is engaged in a bitter legal battle with her mother Constance.

The 25-year-old recently slapped her mother with a lawsuit, claiming that she misuses the $7,500 Leighton sends home each month. The money is meant to go toward medical expenses for Leighton’s younger brother, Alexander, but the star alleges that her mother chooses instead to spend the money on cosmetic procedures.

E!, which has obtained a copy of the suit, reports that Constance Meester refuses to work and uses her daughter’s money for Botox, plastic surgery, and hair extensions.

In return, Constance Meester has fired back at her daughter with a suit of her own on Monday, which claims that Leighton promised her a one-time payment of $30,000 followed by a guarantee of $10,000 a month but has not paid. Constance insists that insufficient funds for Alexander’s care stem from Leighton’s failure to deliver on the money she promised.

Also in the suit is the stunning accusation that “at 2:00 a.m. on December 11, 2010, Leighton intentionally assaulted Constance by throwing her to the ground and repeatedly hitting her with a bottle. Leighton had to be pulled off of Constance by her brother Alexander.”

Constance is reportedly asking for damages from the alleged assault, for breach of contract, fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and other charges.

“This whole thing’s been really tough on Leighton. Her only concern has always been taking care of her brother,” a source told People.
