Singer Lauryn Hill gave birth to her sixth child this weekend,
reports People magazine.
A source close to Hill told the magazine that there were some complications during the baby boy’s birth because the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, but that mother and child are doing well now.
Hill, 36, publically revealed her pregnancy at a concert in Detroit last month and announced that she would be taking some time off to be with her newborn, as well as with her five other children, fathered by boyfriend of 15 years Rohan Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley.
Marley recently has hinted that he is not the father of Hill’s new bundle of joy, sparking rumors that the couple’s relationship is on the rocks. A source told CNN, however, that Hill is calling the child “Baby Boy Marley.”
Regardless of the father’s identity, Marley, 39, tweeted Monday, “I’m forwarding all well wishes to Ms. Hill on the birth of her new son.”
