1. Christmas Cookies:  Peanut butter Christmas cookies are simple to make and taste delicious. The following ingredients are required for the recipe:
  • Peanut butter – 1 cup
  • Granulated sugar – 1 cup
  • 1 large egg
  • Sugar – for rolling (optional)
Mix all the ingredients together till smooth. With the help of a teaspoon, drop this mixture onto a cookie sheet, keeping a distance of 2 inches between the cookies. Press the mixture with a fork. Bake for about 10 to12 minutes at a temperature of 350 degrees. Make sure you do not over-bake. And voila, your delicious Christmas cookies are ready!!

2. Christmas Cake: This recipe will ensure your Christmas dinner is a success.  Here’s what goes into the cake.
  • 200 g cherries
  • 125 g butter
  • 75 g brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 75 g castor sugar
  • ¼ cup self raising flour
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • ½ pinch of salt
  • 75 g raisins
  • 125 g currants
  • 2 table spoons wine (sherry)
  • 30 g almonds (sliced) 
  • 125 grams sultana raisins
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon mixed spice
  • 2 eggs
Mix all the nuts and fruit in a bowl along with the sherry and let sit overnight. Beat the butter until it turns soft, and slowly add the sugars; beat well till creamy. Add both the eggs to this mixture, gradually, one by one. Add the syrup (golden) while you are beating the mixture.
Sift the flours and add to this mixture. Add the fruit mixture stirring until it is well combined. Grease a cake tin and line it. Spread this mixture in the tin and bake for about 1 hour and 45 to 50 minutes in an oven preheated to 150 degrees. 

3. Christmas Shortbread Cookies:  This Christmas recipe requires:
  • Butter – 2 cups
  • Vanilla extract – 2 teaspoons
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Flour (all-purpose) – 4 cups
Mix the sugar and butter and beat till fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and flour and mix together. With the help of a cookie cutter, cut cookies into the shapes you desire. Bake in a preheated oven (350 degrees) for about 10 to 12 minutes. Serve at your special Christmas dinner.
