Christine O’Donnell, former “it” girl of the tea party, posted Monday on her Facebook that she has been asked to join the 12th season of "Dancing With the Stars."

“Although I am utterly flattered, my initial thought was to decline, as 2 year old nephew has more rhythm than me, and my two left feet,” she wrote on Facebook. Christine, O'Donnell,

Fans responded to O’Donnell’s post with mixed reviews, some encouraging her to go for it, others pleading with her to reject the request.

Back when Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol was on the show, O’Donnell showed her support through various tweets.

After all the hype Monday, O’Donnell reposted thanking her fans, but saying she was still undecided and putting her book publishing efforts first. The book will cover her experience running for Delaware Senate candidacy in 2010.

"Dancing with the Stars" season lineup will be announced next week.
