Natural supplements do not cure or treat breast cancer, but research has shown natural supplements may reduce the risk of cancer and may help battle the side-effects of treatment. Here are some supplements that may help:

Green Tea:
The anti-oxidants and enzymes in green tea detoxify the body and boost the immune system.

Soy protein:
Soy protein with its isoflavones, especially genistein, has antioxidant properties that help kill cancer cells. It stops the growth of blood vessels that feed tumors. However, soy protein is not advisable for women diagnosed with estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer.

Vitamins:
Vitamins A,C,D, and E have shown specific properties that help control cancerous cells. Regular intake may inhibit and help fight the disease. They make good allies in the treatment of breast cancer.

Garlic:
Garlic’s allyl sulphur compound has been shown to fight cancer cells effectively. Garlic is a good immunity booster that can be ingested raw or cooked or even taken in the form of extracts, powders, oils, or tablets to aid in breast cancer treatment.

Flaxseed/flaxseed oil:
Flaxseed reduces cancerous cell growth and is safe for women with estrogen-receptor-negative breast cancer. It may be ingested in dosages of 20 to 30 grams a day.

Turmeric:
Turmeric, also called Indian saffron, is known to reduce the growth of cancer cells and is an effective natural supplement in cancer treatment.

Maitake mushroom:
The active ingredient in the edible maitake mushrooms boosts the immune system and helps fight cancer cells. This mushroom contains grifolan, which helps block the growth of cancerous tumors.

Natural supplements add support with their inherent nutritional properties, in addition to acting as boosters and inhibitors when necessary. However, they cannot be expected to fight cancer or cure it.
