This year’s Boston Marathon faces a few changes that have been met with some descent. For starters, the start will occur in three separate stages. Rather than a single mass start, starts will occur in waves.
The second change that many are unhappy about is the development of a rolling admission process for those wishing to participate in next year’s race. With this admission process, the fastest qualifiers in each division will be able to register first.
The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest marathon and one of the biggest sporting events of the season attracting an expected 27,000 people this year.
