Asperger’s syndrome is a form of autism that affects the social interactions and behavioral patterns of individuals. It is characterized by difficulties in speech, cognition, and writing. This Asperger’s diet improves the communication patterns and cognitive abilities of the patient. Though the exact mechanism and the fundamental and underlying biological concepts that relate gluten free diets and autism is not established, eliminating milk and wheat from the diet has definitely helped the in some cases.

An autistic diet or Asperger’s diet helps improve the intestinal function and the attention span; it decreases mood swings, irritability, and temper tantrums. The best part about a specific Asperger’s diet is that it does not involve the use of any chemically processed food.  It’s all about casein and gluten free diet. A diet for Asperger’s should avoid oats, rye, wheat, barley, and dairy products like milk, butter, cheese, ice creams, etc. The main reason to exclude such food is to reduce the irritation of the lining of the intestine caused by gluten.

The Asperger’s syndrome diet takes a little time to get used to. However, the easy availability of gluten-free food in almost all stores can help parents create the perfect Asperger’s diet to help their children in every possible way. This specific diet for Asperger’s dramatically lowers the quantity of peptides and opiates in the blood and urine of the patients.  Research studies are currently in progress to develop the latest diet for Asperger’s syndrome.
