The Alabama Student Grant Program has an annual award of up to $1,200. It is given to students attending an independent Alabama university or college. The application can be obtained from the eligible institutes.
The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Program provides a grant for tuition, board expenses, and other fees. This Alabama scholarship is for students attending a public postsecondary educational institution located in Alabama. The applicant must be an Alabama resident and the son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter of a veteran of World War I, World War II, Korea or Vietnam.
The Dana Campbell Memorial Scholarship at the University of Alabama awards a sum of $2,000 to one undergraduate each year specializing in nutrition. The program is available to students living in the southern states, including Alabama. Deserving applicants in the second or third year of an accredited graduate program in journalism may receive this scholarship. Details can be obtained from www.jamesbeard.org (the sponsor).

The J. L. Bedsole Scholars Program
is for students graduating in the spring semester from a high school located in any of the following Alabama counties: Mobile, Baldwin, Clarke, Monroe, or Washington. In addition, seniors from Sweet Water High School (Marengo County) can also avail this Alabama scholarship. Eligibility: Expected Family Contribution (EFC) - $9,000 or less. Residency - One of the above counties. ACT score of 21 and minimum 2.5 GPA Applicants must intend to attend a four-year Alabama college in the fall and complete the FAFSA.

The Alabama Funeral Directors Association Scholarship
awards two AFDA $1,000 scholarships to those students who are qualified and plan to study further in a mortuary science school  and intend to provide service in the State of Alabama.
