Many democrats are dismissing Sarah Palin as a serious threat to President Obama, should she take the top of the GOP ticket for 2012, but not Howard Dean, reports The Hill
. The former Democratic National Committee chairman says Palin could beat Obama, regardless of what inside the beltway conventional wisdom says. Dean noted that with high unemployment numbers and a sluggish economy, Palin could gain more traction than anyone on the left is expecting.
Dean also said democrats should not underestimate the rigors of the presidential nominating process. The process is so difficult that if you actual win it, you can win the presidency, said Dean. And that’s something he believes his fellow democrats are overlooking. However, others believe the biggest threat to Obama would not be Palin, but former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman.
