Video game publisher Activision Blizzard Inc. said Wednesday that the game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" has brought in more than $1 billion in revenue since it went on sale in November.

The company said the game made about $550 million in its first five days.

By comparison, Activision is expected to report $2.23 billion in overall revenue for the fourth quarter, according to analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters.

The "Call of Duty" franchise is Activision's most popular.

The company's stock rose 13 cents to $10.90 in midday trading.
