When Should I Take My Statin?

Tuesday, 10 Dec 2013 11:04 AM

By Peter Hibberd, M.D.

Question: I have high cholesterol and been taking Crestor. My question: What time should I take my daily pill — in the morning, midday, or evening?

Dr. Hibberd's answer:
The evidence states that the evening use of statin agents provides the most efficient reductions in cholesterol production. So take your Crestor each night.
