Question: Can polycystic ovary syndrome cause diabetes?

Dr. Hibberd’s answer: 
 
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) does not cause diabetes. But, for many PCOS patients, a drug used for diabetes called metformin can control PCOS quite effectively.
