Why Am I Always Cold?

By Peter Hibberd, M.D.   |   Friday, 31 May 2013 09:57 AM

Question: I feel cold most of the time, even when people around me feel warm. What could be causing this?

Dr. Hibberd’s answer:

Cold intolerance isn’t always indicative of a health problem. But I would recommend you have your thyroid function checked, just to be sure.

Start with a blood test called a highly sensitive TSH — short for thyroid-stimulating hormone. If it’s high, have your doctor evaluate you for proper endocrine function.
