Gold and silver have been absolutely slaughtered over the last two trading days. In fact, the drop in gold is the largest two-day loss since 1980.

Throughout the first quarter, we watched as the Standard & Poor’s 500 gained ground week after week. By the end of the quarter, the index gained ground in 11 of the 13 weeks. As one would expect, as the market moved higher, the optimism moved higher as well.

We could still see the extreme net long position mark a turning point in the market, it just might be that it marks a market top instead of a bottom.
